Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake: Stacked buttercakes and buttercream frosting Marshmallow fondant - all decor gumpaste for the 8 and the mug handle red sugar pearls a dab of melted chocolate to attach handle corn syrup

sorry that didn't seem to separate my materials as I typed - all the decorations I cut out of marshmallow fondant and used the wax paper transfer method to apply. I used gumpaste for the 8 and the handle of the mug. I hope to try out modeling chocolate real soon - Jessica has given me the courage to try something new!! Thanks!

I am so impressed! Tell us more about the foam on top and how you attached the can. I love reading ideas..... it inspires me too - but I have to have the time. Hopefully, in a few weekends I will take the time and make one of her cake designs. Jessica is not only an inspiration in creative cake decorating but also about positiveness and hope! Thank you for sharing your beautiful creation as well!

the 'foam' is just piped buttercream - did both balls on frosting as well as drips - start with a heavy pressure on the piping bag at the bottom of your 'drip' and lessen pressure as you draw up the side of the mug. The ice cream scoops in the foam are buttercream that I scooped and released with an icecream scooper. I left the center support dowel long and covered it with brown fondant which I then 'painted' with a cornsyrup to give it shine. Then put a dab of hot glue on the tip and inserted it into the empty can to finish the look.
