This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Quick-Strip Paper Piecing »

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Funky

Materials

100% Cotton Batik

What was your inspiration?

My aim is to do the Mariner's Wheel or New York Beauty but thought I should start with something that looked a little easier and work up to it.

What are you most proud of?

Although the quilt itself is not completed (I have only completed the top) I am pleased with how easy it all went together and turned out looking respectable!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just go for it, it really is easy.

Your work and color choices are excellent. Pegg's class is excellent. I used her woven border part on my chainsaw block which is posted on Kimberly Eimo's class. It is the one with all the Hawaiian prints. Must post to this class so that Peggy could see. By the way, I love your cat too. I have 7 through no fault of mine. I rescued them.

Thank you so much. I have just had a look at your quilt and it is beautiful and you have signed up for a lot of classes. I have trouble keeping up with the few I have signed for! Thank you also for the kind comment regarding my cat, sadly we lost him in the beginning of June. He was a beautiful cat who adoped us! We now have a Main Coon from a shelter who is settling in well.

Didn't realize people could see our classes. I studied for a long time before I decided on the two combining classes. I retire at the end of 2009 so I am finally realizing a dream. Totally started from zero in my sewing room. Paionted and the organized all my fabrics. Gave away alot of things that I knew I would probably not use in my lifetime. It is really fun to share with everyone. The instructors are really great about getting back to you. I was really pleased that Kimberly liked my first quilt. I am actually teaching my husband's last wife how to make this quilt by way of digital photos and notes. My husband and I have been married for over 32 years and why not. We were all neighbors at one time. It is EXCITING to learn. I watch a class each morning before the world knows I am awake. Enjot that new cat. They are better than people most days. The three rescues really helped when my husband was diagnosed with cancer a year after we retired. We adopted the mom, Mooma George and her three babies. We named them Larry, Moe and Curley. We did not know he was a she and called her George. We figured she already knew her name so we just added the Momma part. Well I have shared enough of my world. Continue to learn. It is amazing. Now if I could only figure out how to get the un-zipped downloads to my sewing machine file. I will do it.
