Pina fabric dress (pineapple fiber)

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
The Couture Dress »

Instructions

Used some techniques learned from craftsy class. Difficult to match embroidered border. Sleeves self-drafted. I'll put more details on my blog after I take nice pictures of me wearing.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Classic, Traditional, Romantic

Materials

Pina fabric. Thrifted silk dress. Thread.

What was your inspiration?

Mother brought me this traditional fabric from the Philippines.

What are you most proud of?

Centered the embroidery and matched up the border. Fits well. First dress using my homemade dress form.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Take your time. Make a muslin.

I changed picture. Dress underneath is not thrifted. It is Vogue 8766. Pina fabric was from the Philippines. I haven't found source online.
