What was your source for this piece?
Tell us a little more about your inspiration. Felt a friend deep loss of a beloved pet
Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. Applied watercolor on 200lb cold press Saunders Waterford watercolor paper. Used a photograph for reference and for motivation. I work the pigment from a light to dark wash so the white of the paper and light pigment glows. I cover the background using a complementary dark pigment to give it depth. I use a variety of brushes to move the pigments around using a technique called loose to tight. Applying layer of pigments on top of washes. I have a deep satisfaction for painting people, pet and animal portraits.
What are you most proud of? When I hear how a painting comes to life and has an amazing affect on a person to me that is positive energy to experience and is satisfying.
