What was your inspiration?
Had a couple of pale peach silk chairs that went with nothing (had been my late mother-in-laws) but hated to toss them out! Decided to "Go for it"...if it didn't work I would throw them out. With that freedom, I started and brought in my fav colors. Skimmed through posters on internet & found one I liked-colors were right! Then I just painted it! The seat idea was hard to come up with..didn't want too much going on that would take detract from the back. Glanced over & saw husband's pocket items on the counter....and the idea was born!
What are you most proud of?
The fact that I actually FINISHED it!!! I am notorious for NOT completeing projects, so this was a real accomplishment! Now for the OTHER one!!!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Don't be afraid to tackle a project such as this. I obsessed for DAYS over ruining the silk with paint or water! But then realized it was MY chair...my idea and what was the worst that could happen??? That gave me the freedom and permission to forge ahead and experiment! I think my dear departed mother-in-law would have loved them!
