Orion Star

Make It

This project was made from an independent Craftsy designer's pattern:
Orion »

Instructions

This is an enlarged version of the star from my Orion pattern. The star has been enlarged by 50% so that it finishes at 36" square. I then added borders to make the entire quilt finish at approximately 40" square.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Infant/Baby

Style: Cute, Whimsical, Funky, Casual, Mod

Materials

Cotton fabric, cotton batting, cotton thread

What was your inspiration?

In the extras section of Orion I talk about enlarging a star to make a baby quilt so I decided to try it out myself!

What are you most proud of?

That it actually worked out - hah! I also think it's really neat how it came out kind of looking like a wooden barn quilt.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

There is some math involved, as the pattern doesn't give the numbers for enlarging the star, but it is really easy and you can do it!

This is really cool. Very sophisticated color choices.
