Instead of leaving the ruffle edges raw, I hemmed them to give the halter a more finished look. I also topstitched the front edges of the halter to make the shirt more polished looking.

What was your inspiration?

My daughter! She needs clothes that are pretty much tailored to fit her because she is a very tall and curvy 5-year old. Usually, clothes that come in her size look too grown up so I loved the fact that this shirt has ruffles all over it. It looks more like something a five-year old would wear.

What are you most proud of?

I am proud of the whole project in general. I am also proud of the details that I added all by myself! The topstitching and hemming make me smile!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Make sure to assemble the pattern pieces correctly when you are cutting and taping them together.
