What advice would you give someone starting this project?

One thing that I do differently and I think, for me it helps with accuracy. I tape my pieces rather than pin them. Taping outside the stitching area and then gently peeling it off before moving on. This way, I don't have to deal with pins getting in the way unexpectedly and throwing things out of kilter.

Thanks, Apple, for the details on using Scotch Tape. I hope to do it soon. I tried to add this to your reply, not sure if it could go thru. Lots of weird computer things happening on the site. So, you may see this twice.

Never tried tape. May be worth a try. Any suggestions? I use painter's tape for various things, not sure if scotch tape (frosted) would be the best. Always afraid of getting my iron to close to tape. So I am cautious. Ideas??? And thanks for the tip

I use scotch tape and here's how you do it. Take a small piece of tape about 1 inch long, place your first piece down and tape along your next seam line, keep the tape back away from the seam line, you don't want to stitch through the tape. Put your next piece of fabric right on top and you can tape that too, stitch, remove the tape ( peel it from the fabric toward the paper, this way you won't fray your fabric, then press. Turns out perfect every time!

You're nearly there now - not a lot of blocks left to do, I think? (I haven't started yet.) Looking forward to seeing your completed quilt - every one of your blocks has been in winner, this one included!

I agree about your beautiful dark fabrics hiding the seams best. My background is an off-white on white flower design. The fabric is heavier than others ,so seams of the past don't seem bad. We'll see about this last block!

Hi Applekrisp. Gorgeous! I think you and I (among others) do have an advantage on the blocks with a lot of white background to them. Our seams are more hidden in the darker colors. I spent my whole day making a door hanging for Halloween, My minor dyslexia (I was over 65 before I figured it out), really drove me nuts. I've been fusing letters for wording and have made the letter "S" at least 82 times, all backwards. Finally gave up until tomorrow, Family looking hungry!!! Drat
