What materials did you use? My Block of the month fabrics; craft cotton, Batik, floppier cotton (spray starched) and 1990's remnants.

What are you most proud of? That it did fit together. What I'm not particularly happy with is the star fabric, the contrast against the border (the black) is not so good... but Its what I had available. So I'm back; the original block was much admired by my husband which prompted me to go ahead and make him a full size quilt. I changed the black with little stars as I felt there was too much black, so chose a batik with a complimentary colour and added a 5th fabric, a gollden sweetcorn. I'm very happy with the result and am intending to QAYG in 4 pieces....Oh sweet and innocent child that I was. QAYG was not an option for this quilt, so I echoed the windmills as a whole quilt!

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Keep a tight eye on which way up they go if your using a 'reversible' fabric such as the black. It can get confusing!

Iminei - you worked it through and you did it!! The No-Waste Windmill. I am thrilled for you and proud. I'll add one of my windmill quilts now that you broke the ice. My first piece was a foursie similar to yours.

I really like this! My eye is drawn immediately to the luminescence of the yellow fabric, so the star fabric really plays it's role well. Gudonya!
