What materials did you use? A well-loved leather jacket, with a shredded lining. New polyester stretch satin for lining, very light quilt batting for innerlining, and a lot of prayer! Also a lot of good advice and tips I've picked up from Craftsy Classes and teachers: Thank you especially Angela Wolf and Don Morin!

What are you most proud of? The cuffs. I had to stitch them by hand, since I was going through 5-6 layers of leather, in addition to the lining and interlining. I guided the needle through the existing holes, and sometimes had to use a pliers to pull it through. Each stitch took as long as a full minute to complete. Of course my proudest moment was the text I got from my son: Jacket came. You did an awesome job, by the way.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't! unless you really love someone and they really love the item and appreciate the work involved. This took way more time and work than I'd anticipated. If you choose a similar project, take photos of EVERYTHING before, during and after you take it apart, so you can re-construct it.
