What was your inspiration?

I took a thread sketching class and have made a few projects of my own since then. These are fun, especially working with a special photo.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just pick a simple design or photo and go for it.

Beautiful! I just started my first art quilt and I need to learn to do thread sketching in order to complete the project. Thank you for sharing your process.

I have enjoyed a bit of free stitching with the embroider foot. It is fun, you have done a terrific job. I think I will practice, practice, practice over the holidays. I have a picture in mind of a lovely big gum tree on the way to our on-site caravan in the country. Just have to remember to stop in time to take the photo!

trees are always great subjects--so much interest and variety--lots of character and the bonus is that most anything goes.

I havent taken a photo of that tree yet - BUT - you are the one who inspired me to go take on the Pictorial Quilting course. I managed to do the project in the course and was confident enough to make my own from a favourite photo of my son taken many years ago. I have posted in on my projects. Thank you so much for the inspiration!

And so I've heard, practice makes perfect. I'm just not quite patient enough. You seem to have the perfect amount of control. Again, well done!

This is wonderful. It really does show you have great control of your sewing and one day I hope to be just as precise. Really great job!

Thanks. I don't have as much control as I would like, but I'm getting there. Just practice, practice, practice.
