What was your inspiration?
I made this wall quilt for a friend, Siti Hajar who together with her husband came to visit me in Sydney recently. I visited her home in Christchurch, NZ after the first earth quake. I had lunch cooked by her husband in a very nice n cosy kitchen. When she sent me off to the airport, i promised to send her mags or book on quilting/cross stitching. Then a couple of months after that visit, we heard Christchurch had a second and bigger earth quake which destroyed much of the lovely city. I made this quilt for her, hoping it will brighten up her kitchen again one day. (her house is still being fixed up till date, however her quilting class has stopped since the community building it was held in, has collapsed)
What are you most proud of?
I made the wall quilt using a panel fabric bought on eBay. This is my second item completed in the "My Kitchen Rules" Project.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
nothing fancy just enjoy and have fun making each piece of work
