Instructions
I revised this pattern by only making 16 squares. That was all the backing fabric I had :)Difficulty:
Category: Quilting
Type of item: Functional
For: Infant/Baby
Style: Cute
Materials
I used flannel for the top, fleece for the middle and cotton print for the back!
What was your inspiration?
My sister in law has been asking me about rag quilts. She wanted to make on for her granddaughter. I decided to try my hand at it. I did use a Accu-quilt die to cut the squares and am very happy with how it turned out :)
What are you most proud of?
Utilizing fabrics I had. I even used fleece as batting! Only made as many squares as the back fabric would make.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Have fun! I wanted my back to be all the same, so I used the same fabric for the back of every square. The choices are really endless. Use a filler in the center of each block (batting or fleece), or don' add the center (little less warmth, but a lot less weight). Use different fabrics for the back, making it more of a patchwork front and back. The choice is yours :)
