My grandmother was sick in 2008, I went to take care of her for a month and made several pairs of fair isle mitts or mittens. This was one pair that I came up with, with the help of the Latvian Mittens book.Difficulty:

What was your inspiration?
I wanted something traditional but fun to wear. These go with everything. 5 years down the line, these are still my mitts that I wear the most.
What are you most proud of?
The way the pattern works with the thumb - it is seamless.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Take your time and use the right needle size. These were done on a zero and it was worth every small stitch.
