Here are some details about my project:

What materials did you use? I traced a photo of myself in (gasp!) my undies and traced my body onto paper. I then inserted the drawing under some cheap (i.e. Thin) drawing/sketch pad paper I bought at Walmart and used the technical drawings of the pattern to sketch my blouse options

What are you most proud of? I was really excited to take this class with Barbara but out of the envelope this is not the best look for me. I am busty: 40G, and have a seriously big behind. A jewel neckline and a peplum are not styles that I find flattering. But adding a centre opening to show some skin at the neck and removing some of the volume of the peplum works. I also want to give the sleeves a bit more of a diagonal hemline.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? I plan to make my first version the way vogue designed it to work out fitting issues and then make alterations the next time. It's always good to try new looks because hey you never know!

Love your design! Please upload pics of your finished tops: the basic version and your design variation!

Great job on your sketches.

This is a great idea for sketching ideas in the right shape! Look forward to seeing the finished top.

OH! That neckline is great. I don't like the high circle that was designed for the pattern. Nice clean lines. Love it. Please post the finished top.

I think the button front is much more flattering than the plain front. I like that idea and may steal it from you. Plus the addition of some funky buttons could draw the eye vertically.
