What was your inspiration?
A colleague at work asked me to sew a mother-of-the groom dress for her. I have been sewing for many years but needed to jump start my journey into fitting and finishing garments. The Craftsy course has done just that for me. Now that I have sewn the trial dress (the holiday bombshell dress I will be able to sew her dress with confidence.
What are you most proud of?
I am most proud of the fit, and that I could do it on my own together with the video course.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Do not be in a hurry. Don't think too far ahead. Try to enjoy each step of the process. It is not a project you can whip up in an afternoon but that is part of the beauty of it. It takes time. In the end you will have a unique garment that is beautiful, and you will realize that you have done something that not too many people can do.
