I think I got it at a class I used to go to at a local University. I am sorry I don't remember whose pattern it was.

Beautifull, did you do it by hand or machine :-) and did you used bias ? I want to make placemats to....is a very nice idea

No,you cut these out with a craft knife and the cut outs can be used on other mats, like positive and negative.
