What was your inspiration?
Some time before Christmas I got this amazing yarn: red with golden metallic thread woven in. I thought: wait, that's something Mrs Santa would wear, right? So I designed this shawl and it came out fun!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Use life-lines:) This pattern is all lace, so every now and then it's good to take a piece of slippery yarn and weave it in while knitting - that way if you make a mistake and need to rip a few rows, the life-line will hold the rest of the stitches and you wont have problems with picking them up to continue knitting.
