What was your inspiration?

I love the whimsy of fairies.

What are you most proud of?

This week the children in my Grade 1 class drew names to make a special hand made gift for one person in the class. We are all busy this weekend making our gifts. I drew the name of a little girl whose dog, Katie, had a heart attack this week and died. Her dog was a white Staffordshire Terrier, and for some reason the mouse looks just like her! I think it is the long nose.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Toys look really bad until they are stuffed - keep the faith! Each piece needs tweeking with your hand sewing and stuffing. Wool roving makes nicer stuffing than polyester fibrefill.
