How many ways can you say "Mother"? This 12" x 14" pillow was made from a white on white polka dot fabric from a designer bed sheet. The machine embroidery design was purchased from Emblibrary.com. The 5" x 7" design uses 3 thread colors and stitiches out quickly. The lavender bow added that little extra feminine touch.
What was your inspiration?
When I saw this design, I just thought it would make a great pillow for Mom. I love all the different languages for Mother.
What are you most proud of?
Just that it's a perfect Mother's Day gift.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
When cutting the pillow front piece, cut it large enough that you do not have to be exact in centering your design before embroidering. Once embroidered, you can then trim edges if needed. Also, I cut the stabilizer to the same size as the fabric piece. This gave pillow extra body - especially for the flange -- and an even color overall -- no shadow where you cut away the stabilizer.
