What are you most proud of? That I did it - the quilt is big. 75 by 53 inches. That is a LOT of squares, Lol. I'm most proud that it was juried into the AQS show in Paducah. It was the first quilt that I exhibited there and the beginning of my love for watercolor landscapes. :)

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Start small and learn the technique before jumping off a cliff and trying something this big and bad. :)

Thank you very much everybody! :)

This is very beautiful, I would love to know how you got started to try something like this, could you give me any pointers?

I fell in love with the Watercolor books in the 90's and realized I could use the technique to create landscapes. From there, I hit a wall around 2002 or so because it became to tedious to sew them together. That wall forced me to come up with a different way to piece them together. My idea worked - using a tear-away foundation - and I wrote a book called Watercolor Landscape Quilts. (Available at Amazon and my website

Although I have a library right down the street, I purchased the book, because some things you just want to keep for yourself, and this is one of them. My book should be here midweek, I look forward to seeing it and trying your technique. Thanks again and have a blessed day!
