What was your inspiration?

My daughter LOVES Monster High and so do her friends. But after paying $10 each for some embroidered patches, I just had to come up with something of my own!

What are you most proud of?

This is my first real try at designing, and I did it!

This pattern is worked partially in rounds and partially in rows. I am new to pattern writing so let me know if changes are needed and I will edit..lol. C 3 counts as DC throughout pattern. Round 1: Ch 3, 9 DC in first chain from hook(you should have a half circle) Ch 3, turn. Round 2: 2 DC in each DC. Ch 3, turn (18) Round 3: 2 DC in first st, 1 DC in next two st. Ch 3, turn (24) Now you will be working across bottom of the "fan" shape Row 1: 13 SC along bottom of "fan" shape. Ch 1, turn (13) Row 2: SC together 1st 2 st, sc in next 9 st, SC togther last two st. Ch 1 turn(11) Row 3: Sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn (11) Row 4: SC together 1st 2 st, sc in next 7 st, SC togther last two st. Ch 1 turn(9) Row 5:Sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn (9) Row 6: SC together 1st 2 st, sc in next 5 st, SC togther last two st. Ch 1 turn (7) Row 7:Sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn (7) Row 8: SC together 1st 2 st, sc in next 3 st, SC togther last two st. Ch 1 turn (5) Row 9:Sc in each st across. Ch 1, do not turn (5) Now you will be workingin rounds again, all the way around the piece.. Round 1: SC evenly around the entire piece. Round 2: Slip st in first 3 st, 6 HC in next stitch, slip st in next, skip next, slip st in next, ch 2, DC in next 8 st, HDC in next 7 st, DC in next 8 st, Ch 2, slip st in next 2 st, skip next st, slip st in next, 6 HDC in next st, slip st in next 3 st, SC in last 5 across bottom of skull. Finish off weave in ends Change Color to Black Roound 3: SC in each stitch around. Finish off, weave in ends, leave long tail of black to sew to hats, scarves, etc. Eyes: Round 1: Ch 2, 6 SC in second Ch from hook. Sl st in first sc t close round Ch 1 Round 2: 2 C in each stitch around, slip st in first sc to close round, Ch 1 (12) Round 3:2 *SC in next st, 1 DC in next 2 st, Ch 1* repeat from * to * 4 times (20) Finish off, sew to face, weave in ends. Nose: Row 1:Ch 4, SC in second Ch from hook and in next 2 st, ch 1 turn (3) Row 2: Bobble st one time (this will create a triangle for the nose, finish off sew to face, weave in ends. Bow Row 1: Ch 11, SC in 2nd Ch from hook and in next 9 Ch, Ch 1, turn (10) Row 2-5: SC in each st, Ch 1, turn (10) Tie off leaving a really long tail, wrap tail around center of bow to draw center in and make bow shape. Sew on to skull.
