Materials
Worsted weight yarn. Double pointed knitting needles: sizes 3 & 5. Darning needle. Note: I like to use Peace Fleece worsted weight yarns, but ANY worsted weight yarn will do. Choose 'traditional' Sock-Monkey colors, or make up your own color scheme.
What was your inspiration?
What is it about Sock-Monkeys? I guess I was struck by the Sock Monkey 'Bug' and now I'm just trying to spread a little Sock Monkey love!
What are you most proud of?
I'm very proud of the sizing on my children's mittens - my proportions are very good. I'm also proud of the unique designs I come up with, and how easy my patterns are to follow.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Don't go out and buy any yarn until you check your stash. These mittens don't take much yarn. Use 'traditional' colors, or come up with your own color scheme. Any worsted weight yarn will do. Check out the 'Projects' heading on my Monkey Mittens Ravelry page to see what other knitters have used, and to read their comments.
