What are you most proud of? I originally didn't like this modern octagon and was planning to do a substitute. I just thought it was too big and blocky (he he!) But somehow I came around and decided to try it out. I liked it so much I made two of them! In the end, all my blocks may not all play well together in one quilt, but I am approaching each one as its own study and letting it have its own flavor. I'm learning to appreciate the large scale blocks and push myself to do blocks I initially had doubts about.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't stress about if all your blocks go together if you didn't choose a consistent background color like me. That way you'll feel free to really explore different "flavors" of fabrics for each block that you do.

The frog block is outstanding, well done. Your purple block is very pretty, I like it also. What fun to try different fabrics. Great idea Cat. Thanks for sharing. :-)

Thanks Pam! I would have gotten very restless using the same palette for each block!

Yes, I think that you would. Keep up the good work. :-)
