What materials did you use?
Mod (by Annette Tatum) jelly roll, blue fabric from my stash
What are you most proud of?
Finishing of course :) That's always a point of pride for me lol
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
??? Take your time and watch your seams
Thank you so much for your response! I added the TQM products site to my favorites list. I see the binding tool is dual purpose too (for when I get more adept at quilting that is . . .).
I did my first binding without the tool and wow....it was pretty confusing! There are tons of tutorials out there for every step of the process, not to mention all the classes on here. Just be patient....things will most likely not turn out how you imagine the first few times. I'm a few projects in and STILL mess up and make ugly things sometimes lol :)
Just wanted to let you know (if you don
um yeah that posted before I was done...anyways the binding tool is only $2.25 today at missouri star quilt company, its normally $7 or $8. its a great site with good prices and they only offer this every few months. if you're interested, go to their site and click on daily deal...might as well pick up a few charm packs while youre there lol.
There is a way to quilt-as-you-go with this kind of quilt. I've made a couple and you quilt each strip onto the bottom (backing wrong-side up, then batting) right sides together, open, press, then do the same on the other side; working on one side, then the other until you've reached your backing/batting edge. Then just square up sides and corners and bind.
Thanks, I'll have to try that :)
Thank you :)
Beautiful quilt & I can see how your children would love it. How do you keep them from scrunching the quilt up? I am a grandmother & grandaunt. I always want something clean to keep visiting babies off my hard tile floor but whatever I put down they manage to scrunch up, crawl off, roll off, etc. Babies are just unstoppable, aren't they? lol
Thank you...and trust me, it gets scrunched! Lol...that's why I didn't do much with the actual quilting. Between drool and juice I just want it to hold up in the wash lol
