What a striking quilt! The navy background really makes the stars pop. My son is serving his THIRD tour in Afghanistan. This is the kind of gorgeous quilt I want to make for him. He deserves the best quilt I can create for him. Thanks for sharing your quilt. Judith

Oh, my, Judith, all my prayers are with your son. I am sure he would love any quilt you might make for him... Please forward my sincere thanks to him for protecting all the freedom I and my family enjoys today. Over the century, my family and extended family have lost three military men. God bless you and all of yours. By the way, my two-sided quilt is a mixture of stars taught in three different Craftsy classes. Just use borders and sashing made of the background fabric (so to the 'eye' they all blend together, making it appear that all blocks are the same size) to make the blocks match other blocks where necessary.

Mimi, I'm shopping to be a new member and would like to do a star quilt for my granddaughter I love this quilt and Courtenay's blue star. But I'm also wondering on both are they quilts that can be made into a queen size spead?

The quilt that I made - this red, white and blue quilt - is a queen size quilt. It is laying on a queen size bed in the photos. When you finish your stars, lay them out to assist you in determining the size sashing that you will need, and that additional borders that it will take, to ensure that your finished quilt will extend over the end - and down the sides - of the bed.
