What was your inspiration?
Another alley find, I liked the style of this chair and the shape on the back reminded me of a Tiki Man.
Since we didn't really have a use for an old chair I thought it would be a perfect stand for my pineapple plant.
What are you most proud of?
This chair was completely taken apart, sanded & glued back together. It has now been 7 years since I did it and its still holding together!
Trying to paint the seat to resemble pineapple skin was tedious and time consuming but I think the effect was important for the overall look. I'm glad I was patient.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Sometimes I get inspiration from looking at the shape of the item and just working with that.
