What materials did you use? This is the Long Fitted Dress from Alabama Chanin's book "Alabama Studio Sewing + Design". I hand dyed cotton jersey and used fabric paint for the stencil, button craft thread for the applique

What are you most proud of? The color blue I managed to get! This is the first time I dyed cotton, I have done a lot of dying before but it was using protein fibers (wool, alpaca, silk, etc)

What advice would you give someone starting this project? swatch swatch swatch and allow plenty of time to complete

Did you use any textile paint, so you know exactly where the appliques go? It's really beautiful, by the way!

Thank you :) I did use textile paint, it doesnt show up in the pics well. Its a blue green thats the same value as the lighter blue so there is just a hint of color. I really like how it looks but I do need to use a white chalk pencil to mark around the shapes unless I am working in really good light!

This is beautiful! I love the colors. I am waiting for my pattern. Did you buy the cotton from AC? If so, what colors did you use? Thanks!

Thankyou! I did not buy the cotton from her. I had some undyed already so I dyed it myself. I love AC stuff but I tend to look better in colors that arent muted, so when I finish the dress and start the coat I may end up dying again.
