Instructions

I adjusted the neckline of the bodice to be just a nice rounded neck without the slit; I adjusted the skirt waist and bodice waist to fit (since they were from different patterns). What was your inspiration?

Wanted a professional dress for my daughter

What are you most proud of?

I used techniques learned in a class in Italy and was able to totally ignore instructions with the patterns. These instructions are often difficult and make the garments look "homemade".

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Make a muslin complete with lining.

Beautiful work! It really does look like it came from a high-end RTW shop. Now... tell us more about your class in Italy! lol -- I think I'd like to take it if I can make something this phenomenal too. Your daughter will be proud to say "My mom made this"!
