What advice would you give someone starting this project? This was originally a cut from material that should have been pillow cases. I thought I could do much better than just cases and actually make the whole quilt. Sometimes when you start with a panel, and let your imagination run (or flip though a good quilting magazine) you can get lots of good ideas and make something beautiful.

I love it! Your quilt and backing fabric have the West Quoddy Head Lighthouse in Lubec, Maine ... my husband and I went there on our honeymoon so it has a special place in our hearts. I recently bought some lighthouse fabric and have been wondering what in the world to do with it. Thanks for the ideas!! And bringing back good memories! :-)

;) My hubby and I lived in Maine when our kids were pre-school age. We loved it there...and loved the light houses they are famous for.

I love this fabric. I have been wanting to make a quilt for my brother in law who lives part-time on a boat. This would be perfect and it looks great. with your other squares.
