Here are some details about my project:

What materials did you use? Cotton, batik, reclaimed linen. Will be adding fabric paint, some organza, and Inkjet-printed-fabric Trillium flowers and leaves.

What are you most proud of? Adding the "background trees" strip, using curved piecing. A new skill! Not happy with the too light values in the ground layer, but will soften those in the surface design.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? The piecing and construction are straightforward, but the choice of fabrics is key. It will take more than you think. I started with 5-6 for ground and sky, but needed more.

I can see I have a lot to learn about using value in my blocks, but it's not bad for a first attempt. I obviously need a bigger stash!

I think it looks great! Biggest problem is that the sky and ground are equal sizes. Think about making the sky smaller than the ground. Judith

Love the ground blocks! Those strips of green add a wonderful touch!

In Process: I've change the proportion of sky, both because I wasn't happy with it and later, as suggested by Judith Traeger. I've added some tree silhouettes and batik leaves to the background. I also toned down the bright valued linen pieces with fabric paint. Very pleased with the results so far.
