What was your inspiration?
I needed to make a special cake for someone who loves to knit. The tutorial on Cake Journal was perfect inspiration and provided instruction as well.
What are you most proud of?
It's my first attempt at a knitting cake, and it's probably one of the most realistic cakes I've ever made.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Don't rush- allow plenty of time to get it done. I made it a few days in advance and took lots of breaks so the quality of the work wouldn't suffer. Sometimes I get so excited to see a project finished, I work too fast, and that's when the big mistakes tend to happen.
