In Craftsy's first-ever Block of the Month, Amy Gibson brings you 10 specific quilting techniques - appliqué, string quilting, paper piecing and more.
What materials did you use?
Beautiful color combination on your wheel! The black really makes the other fabric pop! Nicely done!
Love the fabrics on the "modern" dresden plate. What fabric is that? Both came out great!
That's nice of you to offer. Thanks for your response. I'll just live vicariously through your beautiful block.
It was a yard piece of fabric I've had in my stash forever. There are 6 completely different patterns running the length of the fabric, the bright pattern I used in this wheel, but other patterns and colors run from almost black to purple and green. If you really want to see it, I can take a photo and post it. There are no names or identifying marks on the selvege edges. Maureen
The original dresden reminds me of the ones my grandmother used to make; the modern one is really striking.
Do you put this onto your quilt as an applique or exactly how, thats the problem I'm having on what to do with the 100 dresdens I've made. I just can't figure it out, can you help???
You can sew the blocks together to make a quilt. I actually make these into tops of ribbons awarded at our quilt show.
