The original dresden reminds me of the ones my grandmother used to make; the modern one is really striking.

It was a yard piece of fabric I've had in my stash forever. There are 6 completely different patterns running the length of the fabric, the bright pattern I used in this wheel, but other patterns and colors run from almost black to purple and green. If you really want to see it, I can take a photo and post it. There are no names or identifying marks on the selvege edges. Maureen
