Polymer Clay Glitter Acrylic Antique Medium Vintage Buttons (I used as molds on some peices) Mica Powders Glass beads
What was your inspiration?
I fiddled around with making molds of things I had around the house (buttons, shells, keys, etc.) Those few peices imspired these sets.
What are you most proud of?
My original artwork that appears on many of the peices. These are colored pencil transfers, once transfered the original artwork is lost. Each peice is a true One of a Kind.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
If you make a colored pencil drawing ( the slightly waxy ones usually sold in packs of 50 colors) while its freshly drawn ( if you let it set too long this won't work) you can use this method. Flip your fresh drawing over onto some raw clay cut to shape & burnish it down "Lightly"( your trying not to disturb your clay too much) until the paper is in full contact with the clay. I use my heatgun for the next part, heat the back of the drawing very slightly taking care not to harden the clay, your just try to get the drawing warm. Let it cool 3 or 4 seconds & burnish again ( the clay will be softer so take extra care here) peal the paper off quickly. With practice you'll get the entire image to transfer. Good Luck!
