This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Stupendous Stitching: Adventures in Surface Design »

Instructions

this was big 20' by 30 did a lot of fancy maneuvering on my machine

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Casual, Funky

Materials

batik fabric and ink jet cotton print of painting

What was your inspiration?

Carol, seeing other projects, and just wanting to put something other than a painting on my wall. The texture isn't really captured in the picture.

What are you most proud of?

Working with the sari yarn can be tricky, but I find pulling the bobbin up before I start couching helps a lot.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Go for it:):)

Did you do quilt piecing on this and then stitch over it. However you did it, it is exquisite.

I love an overgrown garden, and this really speaks that to me; it's beautiful.

I'm so glad to see you working BIG. I love how you integrated the photo with the backgound and then tied it all together with the stitching. Nice work!
