What materials did you use? 100% cotton, batting

What advice would you give someone starting this project? If you've tried Iris folding you need to understand that this works backwards m- i.e. from the inside to the outside.

I thought you might like to know that the method is paper piecing. The hearts aren't arranged this way in Maruscha's book but as they are made individually and appliqued then there is no end to the ways they can be arranged. The other 2 are made in the same way as each other, 6 triangles are made and then stitched together, and as you can see, depending upon how you lay them out they create very different effects.

How do you do the curved pieces on the sides?

It's difficult to explain. Best way to understand is to check out Maruschka's website and try some Iris folding with paper, then you'll understand hoe it all comes together. Hope that's helped.
