What was your inspiration?

I love to sew infant and children's clothing. This pattern is a 'retro pattern' from 1948. It is such a sweet little ensemble.

What are you most proud of?

I love the embroidery on all of the pieces. All pieces are french seamed. The bodice of the jacke is self linedt. The pintucks add to the 'heirloom look', and the jacket and petticoat were hemmed with a 'picot edge'.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Lots of love and patience!! Now to find the infant to model it.......................

This pattern is from 1947-48, I do have the original pattern my mother used. However, Simplicity re-printed it and it is number 2629 and came out in 2009. However, it is still available, as far as I know. They have several 'retro' pattern reprints available. This is one of them. If I can be of any further assistanc, please let me know. Good luck with your sewing!!
