What materials did you use? Quilt shop cottons, Radiance, Fusible Fleece, Sulky and Aurifil thread, button. Cotton fabric and pattern were in a kit from TheQuiltersMarket.com in Tucson, Arizona.

What are you most proud of? Getting it done! It's not perfect but unless the Quilt Police come to my house and give it a two inch inspection folks will go "wow!" I really like my use of Radiance fabric as an accent and the free-motion stitching around the flower.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Keep learning! While I've added this project to the Borders class, it really is a culmination of the free-motion quilting skills I've learned by working through many of the FMQ classes. Each one gives me inspiration, helps me learn new skills, and allows me to be forgiving of myself during the learning process.

I guess I should have read your "Inspiration" section before jumping to comment! I was just so excited about the pattern! Great job!

Thanks! I checked and the kit is still available. They also have a boot pattern available so you can make as many varieties as you want.

Can I purchase a pattern?

Check with thequiltersmarket.com if they have this as a pattern as well as a kit. I know there is a boot pattern you could adapt to your own designs.

I went to that site and couldn't find the pattern. I love yours and I want to make one of these like yours to give for a wedding gift. How can I find this pattern? I REALLY need it. thanks!!!

Love how you did this Joanna! The pattern is available at Cactus Quilt Shop, 520-498-4698. Southern Arizona Quilt Shop Hop pattern.

Thanks for mentioning that! I bought the pattern during the shop hop and then bought the kit (and another pattern) later. It's great for us who love the southwest.
