What was your inspiration?
I volunteer at the University of Minnesota Masonic Cancer Hospital, where we hand out lap quilts and afghans to patients every month. (I also sew for this group). We needed something to b righten up our meeting room, and I had seen a similar wall quilt on the internet, so I made this one for the Cancer Auxilliary.
What are you most proud of?
This is my first large paper pieced project, and I had great fun researching it and creating the blocks.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Be comfortable with machine paper piecing with smaller projects, such as candle mats or Trivets before you tackle making a dozen or more paper pieced blocks for a larger project. It is time consuming at first, but the results are worth it. The lines in the design come out so crisp with paper piecing!
