Materials

My sons crib blanket for top~ crib bumper pad to go around box~ staple gun~ simple unfinished toy box (from IKEA)~ spray paint

What was your inspiration?

You spend so much time picking out the prefect crib set for your precious baby and then, 1-2 years later, without much wear and tear, its of no use. My son moved to his toddler bed but I loved his crib set so I made a toy box he can use for many more years!

What are you most proud of?

That the idea came together so easily. My son Maddux loves it and there are no corners or edges to worry about. the top is stuffed with the extra bumper pieces so its soft to sit on.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just start the bumper in a back corner so you can end there with a clean finish. You could add a hinge and an arm to keep the top open. My son just takes it off and sits on it.

This is too precious and how smart of you to recycle the baby's crib quit! Great job, very cute!

Very clever! I love the idea of repurposing your son's crib quilt :)
