Instructions

I used a basic commercial pattern for the hippo. Cut the pattern pieces roughly from a muslin (foundation fabric). Decide on color or color combination. Use small scraps of fabric, overlay and applique on each piece until piece is covered. Then cut out the pattern pieces; trimming off excess fabrics. Assembly pieces as per pattern. Don't know if it is in print any longer. The basic pattern I used is a Simplicity #5778. See "instructions" on this posting for doing the patchwork stuff. You can use any basic pattern. Thanks.
