What was your source for this quilting project? Improvisational
Your Flipping Link Tell us more about what inspired you. Military sacrifices

What materials did you use? I used 100% quilter's cotton Valor fabrics, 80/20 Hobbs batting, poly wrapped poly Omni quilting thread by Superior Threads, and my own design based on the center Ohio Star block with the 5 point star in the middle.

What are you most proud of? I love being able to just create a quilt by experimenting with placement of fabrics. The improvisation makes it "mine" and unique. The center star appears to radiate out like in a kaleidoscope. and the way the quilting shows on the back.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Just have fun with it.

3 classes helped me to complete this quilt. Angela Walters "Free-motion Quilting With Feathers", "Machine Quilting Negative Space", and Elizabeth Hartman's "Creative Quilt Backs" were the 3 I took. They helped me feel more confident doing this.

This is a Quilt of Valor that will be donated in the near future. I have a deep appreciation of the sacrifices our military make so we can be free.
