What materials did you use? Red Heart 4 ply in Pink & White. Felt for the backing of the face and misc. yarn for embroidering and the flower.

What are you most proud of? The near symmetry of the two faces. That's the trickiest part to nail.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? You can use pretty much any pattern to make the actual boot part of this project as long as it has a flat toe top to stitch the face on. When making the oval for the face, use a thick yarn as the thinner the yarn, the more gaps you'll see--making the embroidery more visible. I've actually lined the back of the HK face with white felt so I could hide all the knots. I think the effect was much better as the yarn mess on the back of the face is completely hidden. You can scale this project by changing your hook size. I've done the exact same pattern with a larger hook and have gone from infant size to toddler!

These are adorable. If I had a daughter I would have to make these.
