What advice would you give someone starting this project? Find a porcelain/china painting teacher in your area. Go to her/his classes to see if it might interest you. Porcelain painting is not like any other art medium. It is not an easy medium to master. However, over months and years of practice and daily painting, it molds into a beautiful, satisfying, and desireable artform.

Your lamp is beautiful. I have painted on wine glasses and carafts but i used enamel paint and baked them in the oven. I have tried the porcelain painting and can not master it. I am an oil painter on canvas right now.

Kudos to you on your artistic talent. I love porcelain/china painting, and am particularly fond of painting lamps. I got started with lamps when we bought some at auctions that had broken globes or shades. So we would bring them home and I bought replacement shades and painted and fired them to match the existing fonts. It is a challenge, but very rewarding. I too love oil painting. I am very partial to oil paint sticks. They are so versatile. Good luck in all your endeavors. Obviously you are very talented!!!
