Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake: I used gum paste in various colour, sculpting tools, small writing piping tip, lollipop sticks and edible glue to attach the hair strait by strand and the facial features to create these two different looking mermaids. Not happy with how the midriff of the western looking one have turned out but it was too late to correct it. I should have left the body to dry completely before attaching the head. I will now remember this all the the time!

What are you most proud of? I m most proud of the fact that I didn't give up or intimidated by the work involved and I'm proud of my success in creating these cake toppers without formal training.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Do not rush in attaching the head. Let the body dry completely to avoid mushing and deformation of the lower part of the figurine.
