Instructions

I searched the internet for classic Venetian Raven mask designs and then picked out the elements I liked best.

Materials

Purchased black masks from Target, Luminere paints, metallic paint pens, stick-on crystals, spray paint glitter, brush on metallic acrylic paints

What was your inspiration?

Very good friends chose the weekend before Halloween to have a garden wedding (after having an Italian ceremony in Capri). Our instructions were to have "faded tuxes and bridesmaids dresses or costumes" so, in honor of her Italian connections, I painted the classic Raven masks.

What are you most proud of?

I really love my Koi.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

You can paint any design you like! The spray ultra-glitter was very effective - but notice that the handpainting is not on top of that. I painted the background with the metallic acrylic, painted the koi, taped off that area and sprayed the glitter paint. Originally I did all the scales on the koi in gold but it didn't show up well, so I re-painted in black.

this is so strange, I left you a comment but they all disappeared! You are so artistic with fabric, paint is just another way to play. It is also very handy for touching up some little fabric bit you need to disguise or change! Love fabric paints :-)
