Pattern Info

Instructions

I followed the bakeshop instructions almost to the letter. The only thing I did differently was piece a slightly larger backing so I would have extra in case of shifting.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

For: Home

Style: Holiday

Materials

Moda Trick or Treat by Deb Strain. Purple and variegated Coats and Clark thread.

What was your inspiration?

I had seen this patter on the website and really liked it, then found the jelly roll at a local quilt shop very soon after, so I had to make it :)

What are you most proud of?

That I didn't lose my mind piecing all those triangles together! First time I've done so many triangles. My points aren't perfect but it definitely got better as I went along.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Watch all those bias edges!

Beautiful! Hope you aren't putting it away until next Halloween - it's too pretty to lock away...:) Just lovely!

Moda Trick or Treat by Deb Strain. I don't think it's out anymore, but she had a very similar line this year. The purple is Moda Marbles.

I just completed a broken spider web quilt top that has the same look as yours. It is posted her on Craftsy. I love your colors and may try the dark blue for my backing. Congratulations on the win.

Actually it's purple! It never shows up right in photos, but it's the Moda Marbles purple :)

Congratulations on your win! You did a beautiful job. Great fabric choice. Everything about this quilt is perfect. Hard to believe you're so new at it. Love it! I also make my backing and my batting a little bigger than the top piece to allow for shifting. That's a great tip to share.

I am surprised that you would rate this so difficult. This is a pretty quilt and a beginner pattern.. I would have liked to have seen a spider or something appliqued on it to make it your own. Congratulations on your win.

Only reason I rated it that way was b/c it was the first time I'd done triangles and found them difficult to line up correctly (I've only been quilting since March).
