What was your inspiration?

The colour scheme celebrates Jacky Ickx winning the 1969 Le Mans 24 hr race in car 6 - a Ford GT40. The colours are true to the Gulf Oil sponsorship.
I created this as a project for myself as a trial having seen bags for sale for over 300
I now have a card template set used for designing other bags for customers after retrimming their car interiors.
I now offer a service to supply matching grip/overnight bags to my customers.

What are you most proud of?

Matching the seams up at the bag corners is the most difficult.
Selling my first bag (the Orange one) as an addition to the clients custom interior finish on their 2002 Marcos Mantis GTS was indeed a proud moment - seeing the car and the bag at the UK NEC Classic Car Show blew me away!
Getting another order on top from another client on the back of the appearance at the show was the icing on the cake

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't be put off by working with heavier materials. If you can get a used heavy duty or industrial machine then it will pay off in no time at all.
