What was your inspiration?
My grandma was a very avid reader. She told us she had terminal cancer in October 2002. I wanted to make something for her that she could use while sick and still be something unique for her. I gave it to her in November 2002. She passed away in April 2003.
What are you most proud of?
After my grandpa passed away this last November, they cleaned out the house and found this in Grandma's cedar chest, and returned it to me. I'm proud of the fact that almost nine years after her death, the bookmark was found in a place reserved for things special to my Grandma.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Pay attention to the complexity of a pattern before you start it. If you're looking at a timeline, it's important to know whether you're in over your head! :)
