I had a thought for a design for the front of a bag, so I traced my hand and it went from there. Had no pattern so I made one up! Added Lining and a pocket so I made it harder on myself the way I sewed it together. I would do it differently next time.Difficulty:

What was your inspiration?
Wanted to make a Xmas gift for my Mother-In-Law. Thought of a design and traced it. Hopefully she will like it.
Latest update February 2012 - MIL didn't like the way I put the strap together - had an adjustable strap so she could alter the length - SO.... I chopped off the clasp thingo and I just sewed it together after making sure that we had the right length to the strap. I didn't like the way I had sewn the strap together so I enhanced it with another "heart" and the same beads I used for the ring. With a bit of luck she will be happy with it!!!!!!!!
What are you most proud of?
I love making the picture quilts, but I am more practical, I like to think that I can turn them into something that is functional.
I love to see peoples faces when they see something I have made. I mostly like to invent things of my own - that way there is nothing to compare it to!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Think outside the square and have some fun. If you don't use a pattern only you will know about the mistakes!!!
